I want to replace a chandelier with a ceiling fan?
I want to replace a huge chandelier with a ceiling fan. I have a narrow beam that is holding up the chandelier, do I need a bigger support beam to hold the fan up? The fan weighs a couple more pounds than the chandelier. I have 116 year old plaster ceilings that i don't want to damage, any suggestions?
if the beam runs the entire length of the room it will easily carry the weight of the fan.
