DIY solar charger from four cells?
I have 4 pv modules each 15 volts 0.15 amps each. All I can think to do with them is: wire in a series to collect a small 12 volt battery. While I had the power load usbstuff so small, I'll buy the diodes blocking, 12-volt fuse, and a charger etc. Do you think my idea is feasible? I am aware that this is not much, but I'm sorta poor at the moment. Over time I hope to add, if necessary, all your ideas, and AVIC greatly appreciated. God bless you all!
Great idea, Aaron. I think you'll need the son in parallel if they are 15 volts each. The four panels will provide the peak power of only 9 watts the 12 volt battery may need several days to reach full charge. And charging phones and USB stuff, you can use the battery to supply a reading lamp LED (1 watt) and a small FM radio (3-7 watts). Million people in the developing world have solar LED lamps, the radios and phone chargers. It is about changing your life when you live off-grid. Visit the links below - fantastic!
