What would take conformal coating off a SMT Board without damaging the parts.?
I have sprayed conformal coating on some boards and want to remove it with out damaging the led's on the board what would be suitable for this application. Slicone Base Conformal coating.
The manufacturer of the coating may have advice on repairing coated boards. See if they have a web site. Otherwise, search for repair advice. What I recall from prior to SMT technology when boards were repaired more frequently is that components could be de-soldered without removing the coating. A scalpel could be used to scrape away enough coating to solder in a replacement. Beyond that, it was considered impossible to remove the coating.
