Questions about Gov-issue ID and guns?
I had several questions regarding the ID process, and how to buy a gun; I don't have my Govt. Issue ID yet, or a Driver's License. I just turned 18.
-Do you need your Birth Certificate AND Social Security Card to get just a Govt-issue ID, or just, one, or either?
-When you go to the DMV with your BC/SSC, do they issue you a temporary ID on the spot?
-If they do, can you use this to buy a Semi-Automatic AK-47 instead of your permanent ID when filling out registration forms, or will I have to wait? (I know they take up to 3 weeks to get here; I didn't wanna wait that long)
Thanks in advance for any replies that answer ALL questions thoroughly.
National ID is about dead in the water. 12 states have passed laws refusing to issue them.
But to get a drivers license or state issued ID you will need both your birth certificate and social security card, and a parent or guardian with their valid ID or drivers license.
Usually you walk out with the real thing. (La, Or, Wa, MD for sure)
You do need that for your gun application and they still have t run an FBI check which can take a few weeks.
