how can i power my casio px 330 on a boardwalk?

it's a piano keyboard and well it's considered a stage keyboard and has no place to put battery or w/e. Seems like i'm gona need to buy a portable power supply like http://www.amazon.com/Xantrex-852-2000-XPower-600-Powerpack/dp/B000E6LEIC/ref=sr_1_22?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1314931450&sr=1-22 question is how long will my piano run on that?

Well you can either buy one, or build one, the latter is always cheaper.
There are 3 parts. Each is simple, but you have choices. Let's go over each.

Basically, that thing consists of a battery charger (power in), a battery (power tank) and an inverter (power out). When you build your own, you can size each part to your wallet, needs, or wants.

1st part. The usage from the keyboard.
The keyboard has a power in plug. Right above it, in white writing if it a Pro Keyboard, should be the power consumption. Looks something like 110 v 50hz 7 amps. When you find these numbers, you can then use them across the whole system. First we need that in watts, so we can understand.

110v x 7amps = 770 watts to power the keyboard.

2nd part. Inverter (power out)
Now that we know the max usage, we can size the first piece. We need an inverter that can output more power than the keyboard wants to eat. Overpower by about 20-30% to be most efficient.
The math would look like this...
770 watts (from above) x 1.25 = 962.5 watts
So a 1000 watt inverter would be just about right...

Try a cheap inverter from autozone first, but keep the receipt. If you hear a buzz, your keyboard doesn't switch the power, so you need a pure sine wave inverter ($1000). This get's techy, so go see the full story here...

2. Batteries, or power tanks to push that inverter.
The inverter doesn't just conjure energy. That power must be in the "tanks" or batteries, or there is no more music. The size of the battery then determines the run time for the system. More batteries means longer time on stage. If you buy good batteries, the inefficiencies are in the equation above. AGM Deep Cycle batteries like the ones you would find here.

Basically, you use the AH readings, with voltage, to determine the wattage available.
The GPL-4DL, a 212ah battery at 12 volts: http://www.bdbatteries.com/marineflyer.php?id=5
212 amp hours x 12v = 2544watt hours

Your keyboard, at 770 watts, plus inefficiencies, would run for just under 3 hours.
2544 watt hours / 962.5 = 2.64 hours = 2 hours 38 minutes

Batteries are Chemical Systems, so the harder you work them, the less long they last. Run it down 100% 300 times, 50% for 1000 cycles, or 30% to get 1500 cycles.

Bottom line, it's your wallet.
Spend 3x on batteries up front to get 5x the life expectancy.
Spend 2x on batteries up front to get 3x the life expectancy.

3. Lastly, you have to charge those batteries back up.
Obviously, a 12 volt charger on 12 volt batteries.
Assuming we used 2 of those 212 ah batteries, and we run them down 1/2 way, you have the following:

2 x 212 ah x 50% Dischage = 212 Amp hours to put back in.

The size of your charger, in amps, determines the recharge rate.

A 40 amp charger, will be done in 6 hours:
212 ah/ 40a = 5.3 hours + 1 for finishing.

A 10 amp charger will take nearly a full day.
212 ah / 10a = 21.2 hours + 1 for finishing.

Remember;
2 stage chargers if you are playing the keys and charging the battery at the same time.
3 stage chargers if you are not using the battery when you charge it.

On a budget?
You might be able to convert an old computer UPS systems.
Here is a look at how others have done that...
